Sankaku
Sankaku
Cowl with Cotton Fine
A mosaic stitch pattern paired with a thin tape yarn makes a clean modern fabric. The light goes through the stitches, and the tape yarn creates great texture with the mosaic pattern.
This cowl is simple and fun to make. A mosaic pattern is easier to work than it looks. You use only knit stitches and slipped stitches to create the color work on the mosaic pattern. The rest of the cowl is worked in stockinette, and there is no seaming.
“Sankaku” means “triangle” in Japanese. “San” means “three”, “Kaku” means “corner”.
