Yumiko Alexander

Founder of DanDoh, was born and raised in Japan and later moved to the United States.
Through knitting and crochet, she found a way to express her creativity, connect with others, and build a meaningful life in a new country.
Her modern knitwear that combines simple shapes, rich textures, and unique stitch patterns. Her inspiration comes from the pieces she would love to have in her own closet—versatile garments that are both beautiful and effortless to wear.
Her signature approach is creating customizable designs with no shaping. Carefully selected yarns and stitch patterns create beautiful drape that naturally flatters the body. Each pattern includes built-in options for adjusting length, width, sleeves, and more, making it easy for knitters to create a garment that reflects their own style and lifestyle.
Yumiko's goal is to give makers the freedom to create pieces that feel uniquely theirs while enjoying the knitting process. Each DanDoh design is created to become a go-to signature wardrobe piece, blending simplicity, elegance, and versatility for years to come.
