Yumiko Alexander

Founder of DanDoh, was born and raised in Japan and later moved to the United States.

I have really enjoyed my time in the US and I am so happy I have been able to share my knitting and crochet designs through individual patterns and books. I have enjoyed communicating with people and expressing myself through my design work, and I have met many wonderful friends through knitting and crochet.  Knitting and crochet have made my life in the U.S. very beautiful.

At DanDoh, I create modern knitwear defined by clean shapes, rich textures, and effortless versatility. Her signature approach—no shaping—allows each piece to be easily adjusted in length, width, and sleeves, making the designs accessible, customizable, and flattering for all body types. The result is a collection of elegant, adaptable garments designed to be worn and loved for years.
